Massage Types & Techniques

Most massage treatments involve an integration of techniques based on the unique needs and tension patterns of the individual. All massages are offered with steam packs, which provide deep soothing relaxation for no additional charge.

  • Swedish – A full body traditional massage, promoting relaxation and overall health.
  • Deep Tissue – An advanced treatment, targeting deeper layers of muscle and soft tissue. A deep tissue massage will include many different techniques to restore length and flexibility to the fascia and muscle tissue. These techniques may include Trigger Point therapy, Active or Passive Release techniques, Myofacial Release and Neuro Muscular therapy.
  • Sports – A more specific application and combination of techniques. A sports massage is designed to accommodate an athlete during any phase of their training or recovery.
  • Prenatal – This massage can be performed by any of our massage therapists. A prenatal massage will allow the expectant mother to relax   and receive therapy to help alleviate her aches and pains that can accompany the changes in her body. In addition, we provide the comfort of pregnancy pillows for the service.
  • Seated Chair – A quick 15 minute refresher to help rejuvenate and refresh your sore, tired body. This pick-me-up usually focuses on neck and shoulder tension.

What to Expect During Your Massage

  • Let your massage therapist know if you have any health conditions.
  • Your massage therapist will leave the room while you get undressed to your level of comfort.
  • You will lie on the table completely draped in sheets and blankets.
  • The massage therapist will un-drape only the area of your body that is being massaged.
  • Communication between the client and the therapist is essential to providing the optimal treatment.
  • Ask your massage therapist if you have any questions or comments.

Cancellation Policy

Miramont Lifestyle Fitness requires at least a 24 hour cancellation of your appointment. If you fail to call or show for your appointment, you will be charged the full amount for your missed service. Cases of extreme emergency will be considered an exception to this policy.

  • Jolee Yager

    Jolee Yager photo

    Jolee received her certification in massage in 2001 from Heritage College in Denver. She started her career as a sole proprietor of Waterfalls Therapeutic Massage in Loveland. Then in 2007 she joined the Miramont team to further her career in the health care field and has since taken on supervisory responsibilities in the Spa department as well.

    During Jolee’s career she has taken continuing education courses and has worked around many great therapists and doctors. She has worked with many ailments including whiplash, thoracic outlet syndrome, lower back pain, sports related injuries, repetitive use injuries, and treatments after motor vehicle accidents and surgeries. Jolee likes to work with all ages from as early as newborns to the elderly. Each client, no matter what age or issue receives their own personalized treatment. Jolee integrates all the “tools” she has gathered over the years and customizes what works best for the situation. She also greatly enjoys giving massage to expecting mothers. Jolee’s biggest compliment is your return and your referrals. She looks forward to seeing you soon. Her most recent accomplishment was becoming a certified yoga instructor.

  • Sarah Babbitt

    Sarah enjoys using both the art and science of Massage Therapy to help her clients reach their goals.

    Sarah believes the body is a tremendously complex and beautiful puzzle. She enjoys the interaction with her clients, and listening carefully to each client’s particular situation. It is gratifying to her when she can use her lifelong interest in anatomy and physiology, plus her intuition, to help put the pieces in place. “Together we can reduce pain and stress, or improve movement and performance.”

    Throughout her 19 years of doing bodywork, Sarah has continued to study different approaches to working with the body. The more she learns, the more she realizes there is to learn! In any one session she might use Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, energy work, or other modalities depending on your needs or interests.

    When not doing bodywork, Sarah enjoys hiking, painting and drawing, yoga, and being a member of the Larimer County Search and Rescue team. She recently trekked to Everest Base Camp in Nepal, and always enjoys planning her next adventure!

  • Faye Blanding

    Faye wants to help you feel your best. Have you been working really hard, physically, mentally, both? Are you rehabbing an injury or feelings some discomfort from that last workout? Maybe you want to reward yourself or just experience a massage. Faye utilizes varying degrees of pressure, stretch and manipulation to encourage softening of tissue and circulation of fluids. This can also lengthen, tone and release tissues. You experience a shift in body awareness, less pain, discomfort and more “room” to move about in your body. Each session is tailored to you so your input regarding health, medications, pain and energy levels is vital and always treated confidentially. So, come in soon, add massage therapy to your wellness plan and see the difference. Faye graduated from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 1983. She is certified in neuromuscular massage therapy and nationally certified in massage and bodywork. She is registered in the state of Colorado and continues education in several bodywork seminars yearly.

    David began practicing therapeutic massage in 1996 in Chico, CA. He graduated from CSU, Chico with a BA in Psychology in 2000, and received further training in massage in 2003 and 2004 through the Healing Arts Institute in Fort Collins. David has also taught courses through IBMC in Fort Collins in Sports Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Prenatal, and Infant Massage. Whether your goal is getting out of pain or in to peak performance and feeling great, David is glad to help.

  • Chris Musial

    Chris is a graduate of The Healing Arts Institute Fort Collins School of Massage, where he honed his skills as a therapist. Whether your suffering from a past injury, a chronic condition, stress, or just looking to relax or achieve specific results for your body, he can help you reach your goals. Chris doesn’t claim to “fix” people, but rather sees himself as a coach or “tool” in helping you help yourself. His expertise lies in his application of Neuromuscular Therapy, a focus technique used to relieve tension in specific muscles or muscle groups, that is easily incorporated into other massage modalities such as Swedish or Sports massage. This type of focus work can more often yield instant results in the tension of a muscle, allowing clients to feel change in the tissue as it occurs. His focused sessions, along with self care tips for you to follow through with at home, will guide you on your path to a happier and healthier life and well being.

    Originally from upstate New York, Chris moved to Fort Collins to start a family in the most beautiful state in the land. In his free time he enjoys performing live music, hiking, camping, and throwing discs with his two dogs, Layla and Duckie.

    A love of natural health and healing lead Stacey to study massage at The Healing Arts Institute where she graduated from in February 2013. Stacey loves combining therapeutic touch and techniques with soothing strokes that help facilitate healing and relaxation. One session may include many different modalities including: Swedish, deep tissue, neuromuscular, trigger point therapy, sports, muscle stripping, and myofascial release. With a background in nutrition and holistic health, Stacey believes our body functions best when in harmony and is fascinated by the body’s ability to heal itself when cared for properly. She would love to help you along your journey, whether it’s a specific injury you’re seeking relief from, or you simply want to zone out and experience pure bliss!

    When not massaging you can find Stacey enjoying time with her family and toddler daughter. She is a recent member of The Fort Collins Running Club and hopes to increase her athletic ability and distance. She is an avid traveler, having visited 19 countries and lived in Guatemala studying Spanish and volunteering. New to Miramont, Stacey is very excited to try some of the many group fitness classes.
