Session Dates

Session 1  |  August 28 – October 8. Monday classes are 5 weeks (No classes on September 4) Tuesday – Sunday classes are 6 weeks.
Session 2  |  October 9 – November 19. All classes are 6 weeks.
Session 3  |  November 20 – January 14.  Wednesday – Sunday classes are 5 weeks. Monday -Tuesday classes are 6 weeks  (No classes November 22 – November 26, and December 23 – January 5)

Registration Information

• Online registration for Session 1 begins Monday, August 14 at 6:30 am. (Miramont Tennis Members Only)
• Phone and walk-in registration for Session 1 begins Monday, August 14 at 8:30 am. (Includes Non-Miramont Members)
• Session 1 participants are welcome to register two weeks prior to subsequent sessions. Open registration begins one week prior to each session.
• Programs must be paid in full to secure registration.
• Make up classes are available if necessary, but will not extend into future sessions.
• A minimum of three participants is required.  Programs are subject to change based on enrollment.

Junior Development 

Miramont uses the Quickstart method to develop junior players. The Quickstart method utilizes a progression of age and size appropriate training balls, racquet and court sizes to help young kids develop better technique and achieve greater success while having fun!

AGES 4-5

Tiny Tots (36’ court, red ball)
The young child in this class will be introduced to the game of tennis in a fun and positive environment. Players will work on developing a variety of athletic skills and the basic fundamentals of the game.

AGES 10 & UNDER

Beginner (36’ court, red ball)
This class is for the 6 to 10-year-old that is relatively new to the game. No prior experience is necessary to participate. This class is designed to help your child learn the fundamental strokes in tennis, as well as introduce them to rallying and point play. Emphasis will be placed on having fun, proper stroke mechanics, and footwork.

Intermediate (36’ court, red ball)
This class is designed for the 6 to 10 year old player who understands basic tennis mechanics using the forehand and backhand and is capable of participating in a 10 ball rally with another child from the 36’ baseline. Players will continue to work on the stroke mechanics for groundstrokes, volleys, and serves, as well as consistency and control in rally and point play scenarios.

Advanced (60’ court, orange ball)
This class is for the 6 to 10-year-old player who has sufficient experience on the 36’ court. Players should have the basic mechanics down for groundstrokes, volleys, and serves and be able to display control and directional intent with these shots. Players can carry a 10-ball rally and play points on the 60’ court. Participants will continue to develop a variety of shots and will get gain experience using them in point play scenarios.

AGES 12 & UNDER

Beginner / Intermediate (78’ court, green ball)
This class is for the beginner to intermediate 11 to 12-year-old player (or 10-and-under player who has worked their way up to a green ball and 78’ court via the USTA’s “Youth Progression” system). No experience is necessary to participate in this class. Players will work on stroke production, movement, rally skills, and point play.

This group is for the advanced 11 to 12-year old player. Participants should be comfortable with all basic tennis strokes and able to display control, consistency, and directional intent while using them. Prior match play experience is recommended.

AGES 13 – 17

Beginner (78’ court, yellow ball)
This class is for 13 to 17-year-old players who are relatively new to the sport. Players will learn the fundamentals of the game and will improve the skills necessary to participate in match play situations. Stroke production, rally skills, and point play will be emphasized.

5th & 6th Grade Fall Tennis

Students will learn about footwork, stroke production, positioning, scoring, ettiquette, and sportsmanship. Class meets twice a week for practice and once a week for match play. Students will learn all the essentials needed to compete at the Middle School level. Available Session 1 ONLY.

CHALLENGERS

This group is designed for the intermediate to advanced middle school player. These players should be comfortable with all of the basic strokes and be able to display control, consistency, and directional intent when using them. Prior match play experience is required. Participants will continue to develop their strokes, footwork, and point play skills. This class is intended to prepare players for their middle and high school tennis seasons and tournament play.

GRAND SLAM

This group is designed for the intermediate to advanced high school player. These players should be comfortable with all of the basic strokes and be able to display control, consistency, and directional intent when using them. Prior match play experience is required. A variety of drills will be used to teach many aspects of the game and get players ready for high school tennis seasons and tournament play.

Friday Night Tennis Games and Pizza – 8 & up

The primary goal – Let’s have fun!  We will play a bunch of tennis games followed with pizza to cap off the party! No prior tennis experience necessary.
